Ruh-Ro... That Didn't Turn Out How I Thought

30 Day Colouring Challenge 001

Soooo, my projects don't turn out quite how I thought they would, but I think I managed a rescue.  And Kylie has brilliant results with her 2 projects.  Here we are with day 12 and 14.  We skipped a day. You're allowed to do that.

Day 12 Kylie 001

Kylie had great success using die's as stencils, and coloured with Distress ink and a blending tool.  I love how adventurous she is.

Day 14 Kylie 001

And this little scene she stamped with Memento Black ink using stamps of unknown origin (SUO) and coloured them with her Micador Basics Pencils.  I'm considering getting us some blender pens, as she hasn't experimented with blending her pencil colouring yet.  Looks cute.

Day 12 Paula 001

Good Grief... what happened here?! In papercrafting, I've learnt that it's ok when things don't turn out how you thought they would.  Mostly you can cover it up with another bit of paper.  So, what did I do? I first traced some letters in pencil.  And then I used masking tape to make stripes using Distress Ink Pens.  And then I mixed some Perfect Pearls and water in a mister bottle, and sprayed a little too enthusiastically over the entire piece.  I think I thought the colour wouldn't move too much.... but it did and I lost my word!

Day 14 Paula 001

TaDa!  Day 14 I traced the same word in black ink pen on a new piece of paper.  And then I used an ink blending tool, and this gorgeous Distress Ink to colour the letter.  Fussy cut them out, popped them up on foam tape, and VwahLa... project rescued.  There's a sermon illustration in there somewhere I'm sure.  Thanks for sticking around.  Tomorrow we will be halfway there, and then we are on the downhill run!
